How it works
Rally20 is played by two partners. You're not trying to beat each other. You're trying to keep it alive, together.
Pick your partner
A friend, a club mate, your kid's coach. Any two partners, any level. Rally20 is made to be easy to start.
Film your rally
Any angle works. For the best count: turn your phone sideways, keep the whole court and both players in view, keep the phone still (a tripod helps), and film from higher up if you can.
Post your count
Trim the start and end, enter your count, tag your partner and venue. Your rally joins Rally20 Moments and the Top lists.

The first official Rally20 season
December 2026 in Southern California. Official attempts at certified venues, a real Leaderboard, and a season final. Season 1 starts Spring 2027.
OUR MISSION
Badminton deserves a bigger stage in America.
We started OutRally with that belief. Badminton is fast, skillful and fun at every age, and it is played and loved around the world. Here, too many people still think of it as a backyard game.
Our mission is four words: Join the Rally, Grow the Game. Rally20 is that mission put into action. Every R20 rally starts the same way: two partners step on court and join a rally. Every pair that gets On Board is one more pair invested in the game.
Tournaments are built to find winners, and most players never enter one. They play with the same friends every week and want something to aim for together. Rally20 gives them that: a game you play with your partner, not against them. Easy to start, hard to master, worth sharing.
Why twenty? Twenty shots in a row is the first number that proves real control. Luck won't get you there, and anyone who plays regularly can.

Rally20™ and R20™ are trademarks of OUTRALLY LLC. Rally20 is OutRally's badminton rally game and competition series. It includes the official rules, seasons, Leaderboards, certified venues, official events and the Rally20 features in the OutRally app.
Rally20 is a brand name, not a generic word for a rally, a drill or a way of playing. The activity is a badminton partner rally. Rally20 is the official version, created and run by OutRally.
Founded and officially launched by OutRally on October 10, 2026. October 10 is R20 Day, celebrated every year.

- Rally20
- OutRally's badminton rally game and competition series. Partners keep one rally alive together, and the count of consecutive shots is the score.
- R20
- The official short name for Rally20. An R20 rally is one recorded attempt.
- On Board
- The Rally20 milestone of 20 consecutive shots. It earns a score and a place on the Rally20 Leaderboard.
- Full Rally
- The Rally20 milestone of three minutes without the shuttle touching the floor. Full Rally pairs rank by how many shots they fit into three minutes.
- Pair
- The Rally20 format for two players, one on each side (1+1).
- Squad
- The Rally20 format for four players, two on each side (2+2).
- Season
- An official Rally20 competition period with certified attempts and a season final. Season 0 runs in December 2026 in Southern California.
- R20 Day
- October 10, the day Rally20 was founded and launched, celebrated every year.
What Rally20 does for badminton
A first goal for every new player
Twenty shots in a row is a goal you can reach in your first months. Reach it and you're On Board, and you want to come back.
Fundamentals, turned into a game
Control first, then speed. Rally20 scores the same skills coaches teach, so practice finally has a number.
Families on the same court
A Family division for parents and kids under 15, a Junior division, and a Senior division for players 60 and over.
Badminton people want to watch
Every R20 rally is a three-minute video and a score, made to be shared. Each one shows more people what this sport looks like.
Questions
Do we play against each other?
No. Rally20 is cooperative: two partners keep one rally alive as long as they can.
What counts as a shot?
Every hit that clears the net, starting with the serve. A rally needs 20 in a row to count.
Do I need to be a good player?
No. Twenty in a row is reachable for most everyday players. That's the point.
Can kids play?
Season 0 has Family and Junior U15 divisions with a parent present. Posting in the app is for players 13 and older for now.
